Man charged in attempted robbery of Sonic Drive-In

McComb police have made an arrest in connection with the recent attempted robbery of a fast food restaurant.
Police Chief Juan Cloy said Saturday that officers arrested Kadarius Andrews, 29, whose last known address was in Jackson, in McComb on Saturday morning.
He is accused in the Dec. 13 attempted hold-up of the Sonic.

Local woman slain in La. shooting

A Magnolia woman was fatally shot at a motel in Amite, La., Thursday afternoon, and a suspect is in custody.
Latonia Badon, 48, was found dead by Amite police officers of an apparent gunshot wound to her head at 4:23 p.m. at the Colonial Inn on Highway 16.
Police responded after receiving a call of a shooting.

Here’s looking at you: City's camera network up and running

Crime-detection cameras are in place in McComb and more are coming over the next few months, as officials are hoping they will be a high-tech crime deterrent.
City Administrator David Myers said 17 cameras are in place, including two put up by St. Andrew’s Mission that are tapped into the city’s network.

Jayess woman, two others sentenced in house theft scheme
