Trial date set in depot arson case

Having been ruled competent to stand trial, a judge set an Oct. 28 trial date Monday for the man accused of setting fire to the McComb Railroad Depot more than four years ago.

Amite County shooting death investigated

Amite County authorities are investigating the Wednesday night shooting death of a 21-year-old man.
Sheriff Tim Wroten said Ladevin Ross was found dead at a residence on Dave Collins Lane off 48 between Liberty and Centreville Wednesday night.
He said deputies received a report of a shooting between 10 and 10:30.
