A shooting in McComb Sunday night left one man injured an another arrested law enforcement said Monday.
Wade Alexander, 25, of McComb, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly shooting Anthony Wells, 31, of McComb on the 1000 block of Venable Street around 11 p.m. Sunday. Detective Sgt. Delre Smith said the charges may be upgraded, depending on Wells’ ongoing condition.
Wells, whose condition was unknown Monday morning, was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
A resident in the area reported multiple shots fired from what sounded like at least two different weapons.
This comes after a shooting about a mile away on Nelson Avenue left several people injured Thursday night. Law officials said they are making progress on the case, but there were no arrests as of Monday.
Smith said the Sunday night and Thursday night shootings were not connected.
