The final week of postseason basketball in the state of Mississippi is upon us, with Final 4s and championships taking place at both the MAIS and MHSAA levels.
In the MAIS-overall tournament, the Parklane girls basketball team picked up a dominant 63-27 win over 2A-champs Columbus Christian last Monday.
The Lady Pioneers now face the top seed from the 3A level in Lamar Christian at 11:15 a.m. on Monday at Mississippi College.
Should Parklane win that one, it would advance to the Final 4 to take on the winner of the Jackson Prep-Pillow Academy matchup at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The championship game takes place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Under first-year head coach Reggie Chambers, the South Pike boys team has also made a deep tournament run.
The district-champion Eagles have beat each of their first three opponents by double-digits in the MHSAA 3A playoffs, and they now square off with three-time defending state champs Booneville at noon on Tuesday at the Mississippi Colisuem.
Should South Pike win that game, it would take part in the title bout at 4 p.m. on Friday.
