LIBERTY — Amite County supervisors on Monday began the bidding process for various supplies and services for use in 2023.
They agreed to advertise for bids to purchase culverts, a contract to feed the jail inmates, supplies and bank depositories, which will be for two years. .
"The code gives us the authority to do it for two years,” board attorney Reggie Jones said of bank depositories. “We'd do the others for two years if they'd let us."
Jones said the board will accept bids at the Dec. 5 meeting. He said prices for the different services could increase with inflation.
"We just figure it out as it comes,” he said.
In other business, with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day coming up, some of the meeting days will be at different times than usual until January. Upcoming meetings are Nov. 23, Dec. 5 and 22 and Jan. 3. All of the meetings will start at 10 a.m.
