The McComb 11-year-old All-Stars manhandled Cleveland East, 12-2, via the 10-run rule on Saturday morning in the opening round of the state tournament in Laurel.
McComb, the No. 2 seed from the South region, raced out to an early lead with six quick runs in the first inning. Newlon Gillihan started the scoring for McComb with a two-run double and later scored on a Jamiah Andrews single. Tate Felder then knocked in Andrews with an RBI single. Eric Holifield chased Felder home with an RBI triple and later scored on a passed ball to make it 6-0.
