This was the inning North Pike manager George Lott had sought from his team for quite some time, even if the Jaguars had some help putting it together.

North Pike broke open a close game with a nine-run fourth inning Friday night en route to a 12-2, five-inning victory over the visiting Franklin County Bulldogs at the North Pike baseball field.

The Southwest Mississippi Community College baseball team split a Saturday doubleheader with visiting St. Charles (Mo.) Community College, winning the opener 13-3 before falling 14-4 in the nightcap. Southwest now stands at 10-6 on the season.

Southwest took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning of game one when third baseman Scoot McDaniel blasted a solo home run over the left field fence.
