Frank John Mammelli Sr., 84, of McComb, passed away June 11, 2019, at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie, La.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 Mr. Mammelli was born June 8, 1935, in New Orleans to the late Frank Onofrio and Nancy Costa Mammelli.

Mr. Mammelli was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and a cameraman and broadcast engineer for Channel 8 WVUE in New Orleans. His passion was being a pilot, and he was an excellent one at that. He was well known and respected among his pilot peers. He was a loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather who will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Denise Mammelli; a grandson, Sgt. Adam Ryan Webb; two brothers, Bobby Mammelli and Murphy Mammelli; and four sisters, Nancy Ricker, Joyce Zaffuto, May Long and Mary Ann Pons.

He is survived by his son, Frank John Mammelli Jr. (Antoinette); two daughters, Cynthia Dianne Mammelli and Nannette Cherie Webb Field; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Taylor, Dominic, Cynthia, Madison, Murphy and Matthew; and six great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lexis, Mikey, Eva, Brayden and Jeremiah; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
