Blood for Cash

Cindy Wilkinson, left, and Michele Ward, the grandmothers of Cash Ward, hold the 4-year-old leukemia patient’s stuffed dinosaur near Mississippi Blood Services blood donation buses parked outside Kroger in McComb on Friday afternoon during a blood drive for Ward. Ward was diagnosed with b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. While the disease has a high survivability rate, Ward will require a lot of blood and platelet transfusions. Anyone who missed the donation for Ward on Friday can donate blood and have it saved for Ward by using the donor code DZ212.
