Midterms are over, but the stresses of college life aren’t lost on Southwest Mississippi Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, which welcomed animals from the McComb Animal Shelter onto campus Wednesday and today as a stress reliever for students. The effort was part of a mental health awareness campaign. College officials said 1,100 college students commit suicide in the U.S. each year, and one in five have mental health issues.
