Pike readies for oil ‘storm’

Posted: Tuesday, July 3, 2012 2:00 pm

Comparing oil fracking to an approaching storm, Pike County supervisors said Monday they don’t know when, where or even if it will hit, but they need to be prepared.

Unlike a hurricane, however, supervisors welcome fracking, even though it will create a number of challenges.

I had to laugh at the last comment,

I really hope it was sarcasm because thats the most fooling statements Ive ever read.

There's already way worse problems for Pike Country to Worry about other than oil fields.

Well if the fracking is going to bring in such things as immoral women and lure men to do abominable things, then the county should discourage the oil companies from working in our county. We don't need their kind here. I'm a man and I wouldn't want the temptation of knowing our good county is over run by prostitutes. The county should also consider suspending all beer, wine and liquor sales while the oil field workers are in town or at least prevent them from being able to partake in drinking alcohol.
