I dont think this was an intentional crime, the young man has not been in anything like this before i think this is a case of wrong place at the wrong time, and self defense.

Yep, it's a shame alright. Mccomb, well, either when I was young, I was "unaware" of all the dangers around as I rode my bike all over town, or Mccomb used to not be as bad as now. Riding down the street in the car you literally HAVE to watch the middle of the road, there are ALWAYS people walking right down the middle of it, simply refusing to use the sidewalks. Sometimes entire streets are blocked with cars, people etc...Sometimes a person will just STOP in the middle of the street in their vehicle to carry on a conversation with someone else in another car, just stopping traffic altogether, being inconsiderate of everyone around. (I suppose its just TOO MUCH of an inconvienience to do the safe and smart thing and stop in a parking lot)..Yes every other day there is always something to see or hear, hardly any of it good anymore.

I rented a house three years ago, while away on my job someone had broken into my house and stole several electronic items from the home. Someone I know has had not one, but TWO different lawnmowers stolen from their residence. My fathers bestfriend had someone break into their house while they were sleeping. A lady who runs a barber shop out of her home has had the place robbed twice now that I know of. The list can go on and on. Now we read about these guys ramming a vehicle into a store to rob it....You know, last night I was watching the news out of Jackson, and suddenly the lines were "blurred", I was beginning to wonder if they were talking about Mccomb??? Yes in my opinion, its starting to get that bad here as well.

You know it all boils down to upbringing, how the parents raised them. I have been through an awful lot in my life, but never once, never once did I ever contemplate breaking the law or harming another person for some type of gain when I was at the end of my rope, why??...Because my parents raised me better and I respect my fellow man. Thats another problem around here, respect, no one has it anymore. These people acting out these crimes have no respect for others, other peoples property, and sadly, no self respect either, as they are one step above the evolutionary equivalent of a pure animal.

Ultimately, the path a person chooses will either lead to a rewarding life or their final demise. While I wish no harm on my fellow man, will I shed a tear when these evil and hateful people cease to be?........I will put it to you this way, no one here will have to hand me a tissue....

What's "sad" Ms na-na, is the fact that blacks are killing each other through gangs & other trivial worthless thug nonsense. There isn't one city in America that is predominantly black that isn't corrupt with crime of every nature known to man. And I hear all the time that whites hold the blacks down & that is a lie. Blacks have many more opportunity's & government backing than the whites ever have had. If these kids want to be on the streets in a gang, they're there because of want not because they don't have a chance at college. It will stop when they start issuing the death penalty for gang related crimes & stop sending these animals back 4 & 5 times to prison. Start sentencing to death anyone guilty of a 3rd time crime & ALL of this stops, but America has become to soft on anyone breaking the law so we have become a nation of crack-heads & ignorant slugs.

@ MS NA-NA;are you asking for help from "the government" in your quest,or do you want "the community" to handle the problem,or do you think parents should become more involved in the lives of their children and look at what games they play, what they watch on TV and in videos, and who they hang out with and what they do when they arent doing homework and are hanging out on the streets or slipping out of the house after everyone goes to bed?...You say things like"when is it going to stop"? and dont offer any suggestions as to the causes or how to correct the problem....The "thug life" is a big attraction to someone who doesnt have parents telling them whats wrong with that path...

I am almost afraid to post my thoughts on the subject of crime in the McComb-Pike County area. Thanks to some who feel my opinions rattle the cage a bit, I am not considered serious enough about the plight of McComb's law abiding citizens. Guess what, I happen to be one! To my detractors, try reading past the part that is causing your discomfort. I have been a law abiding member of this community for over TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS.I must admit to ONE speeding ticket on Bendat several years ago. (1)Twenty plus years ago, my elderly neighbor was attacked and sexualy assaulted by an African American male.( a big black guy) He was later caught after another assault. (2) I have a neighbor who has lived through TWO STRONG ARMED ROBBERIES in Five years. (3) There is a young woman from Chatawa that has been missing for many years. I met her and her parents at my first job in McComb. Sadly I don't think the parents are still living. (4) There was a girl from Pike County found brutality murdered at a County lake next to us. (5) I have a neighbor whose house was broken into while they were asleep. Thank GOD no one was hurt.(6) A young woman was found nude, bitten, and beaten to death at an I-55 rest area in Pike County. (7) I was robbed at gun point twenty-five years ago at my first job in McComb-Pike County. The Bandit blew his brains out on the side of I- 55.The Boss got his money back and I got my pay check. Yes, Katrina blew a bunch of garbage into our community, but we've always had our own. While I am not able to recall all of the criminal events of the county or city's last twenty seven years, I sure can remember these few. Oh, by the way, sorry about the speeding thing Officer Gill. Yes Jack, I may not have all the dates right, but every thing I have written above is true.

Cycler is correct in that the Former Chiefs of Police he named never had to deal with the thug population that McComb has now,nor did they have to deal with a "culture of violence" that the "thug life" has glorified..

Could someone who is able, find out how many murders we had in Pike Co, in say 10,20,30,40,50 years?
When I was a teen in the 60s, a murder was rare and talked about for a year. Now they seem to be every other week.
I do know one thing, Guy,Guy, Smith, Baham, Allen, and Barksdull didn't answer any 24,000 calls a year.

ENOGH IS JUST ENOUGH. I OLD BOTH FAMILIES UP IN PRAYER .
