Cockerham satisfied with severance tax bill

Posted: Friday, April 5, 2013 4:05 pm

Rep. Angela Cockerham acknowledged that she didn’t get much of what she wanted in a bill cutting severance taxes for hydraulic fracturing oil producers, but she is still satisfied with a compromise the Legislature reached.

“I wanted a win-win for the counties and the companies,” Cockerham, D-Magnolia, said Thursday. “I didn’t want to do anything that was going to hurt the companies, but I wanted to look out for the counties as well.”
