Demolition ordered; home-based mechanic gets leniency

Posted: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 2:00 pm

Handling nuisance property complaints, Summit officials on Tuesday gave leniency to a mechanic operating a shop out of his home and ordered the demolition of a house left standing months after a massive oak tree felled by Hurricane Isaac destroyed it.

The council voted to give Ed Gatlin 90 days to move his mechanic’s business from his house at 1407 Baldwin St., to a shop he recently bought on Nehi Circle in McComb.
