A McComb man convicted of murder in Pike County Circuit Court has been ordered to prison for life. And because he was ruled an habitual offender, he has no chance of parole.
Judge David Strong on Friday sentenced 49-year-old James Douglas McKnight to the maximum sentence — a mandatory life sentence for murder. Two previous felony convictions, including armed robbery and aggravated assault, led to an enhanced sentencing ensuring there will be no parole. McKnight also must pay a $10,000 fine, restitution of funeral costs and court fees.
