Someone once said, loosely paraphrased, that God's justic requires the death penalty in some matters, but the imperfections of man are such that we have no business imposing it. Of dozens of death penalty cases I've worked on, not one victim has ever come back to life when the killer was executed. What, then, is the point, but bloodlust?
