E-J seeks nods for citizen, heroes

The Enterprise-Journal is seeking nominations for Citizen of the Year, Life Achievement and Unsung Heroes to be featured in the 2009 Perspective edition publishing Friday, March 27.
If you know someone who has made a substantial contribution to the development of our community or made a difference in the lives of others, tell us about them.
LIFE ACHIEVEMENT
This award honors a person who has made a substantial contribution to the community over the course of his or her life.
In 2008, that award went to the Rev. Donald Dick.
CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
We’re looking for a person who has made a substantial contribution to the community during the last year to be honored with this award.
The 2008 recipient was area car dealer Mike Beebe, who moved here after Hurricane Katrina and quickly — and philanthropically — became involved with community affairs.
UNSUNG HEROES
People who do a lot of good deeds that fly under the public’s radar and whose stories are seldom, if at all publicized, are who we want to recognize with this award.
All nominations must include a letter detailing the achievements of the nominee and stating for which award they are being nominated.
The nomination letters are used to determine who will be recognized.
Nominees must be living adults who have made a significant contribution to their community.
Nominations must include the name and phone number for the person being nominated, along with the name and telephone number of the person who is making the nomination.
The deadline to nominate someone is 5 p.m. Feb. 29.Entries may be brought to the Enterprise-Journal office at 112 Oliver Emmerich Drive, or sent by fax to 684-0836, by e-mail to news@enterprisejournal. com or by mail to P.O. Box 2009, McComb, MS 39649.
