ALEASE JACKSON BELL
Alease Jackson Bell, 81, of McComb, died Nov. 7, 2007, at her residence surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craft Funeral Home in McComb. Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Society Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 51 South in McComb, with the Rev. Louis Johns officiating. Burial will be in Dinah Cemetery No. 2 in McComb.
Mrs. Bell was born March 1, 1926, in Smithdale, to Arthur and Pearl Perkins Jackson.
She was a homemaker and a private sitter for many years. She attended school in Smithdale. At an early age, she joined Tyree M.B. Church in the Algiers community of McComb and later became a member of Mount Herman M.B. Church in McComb, where she attended until her health failed. She also occasionally attended Flowery Mount M.B. Church in McComb.
Her family said she loved cooking for everyone and was an elegant, well-organized lady who had a love for flowers. She also enjoyed taking long rides in her car. She was a caring, devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roosevelt Bell Sr.; a sister, Tomazine Allen; a brother, Authur Jackson Jr.; and a granddaughter, Valicia B. Brock.
Survivors include two sisters, Lena Mae Tatum of McComb and Cebell Watts of Milwaukee; six sons and two daughters-in-law, M.C. and Carolyn Bell of Gulfport, Roosevelt and Donis Bell of Ruth, Jimmy Bell of Irving, Texas, and Jewel, Craig and Kraft Bell, all of McComb; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Inita and Lonnie Jones, Brenda and Ronnie Brock and Linda Bell, all of McComb, and Ilena and Leon Bernard and Theresa Bell, all of New Orleans; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, special niece, Nolia Mae Allen of McComb; special nephew, Tommy Tatum of McComb; seven brothers-in-law, Lat, Charles, Benjamin and Allen Bell, all of New Orleans, Woodrow Bell of Upper Marlboro, Md., Leo Bell of Vallejo, Calif., and William Allen of McComb; a sister-in-law, Icola Hunter of New Orleans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Elma Brock of McComb.
R. KEITH PRESCOTT
Ramon Keith Prescott, 47, of Summit, died Nov. 10, 2007, at his residence.Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Magnolia. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Prescott was born Nov. 13, 1959, in Charlotte, N.C. He was the son of J. Ramon Prescott and Johnnie Ruth King Prescott.
He was a mechanical technician for Turner Industries in Baton Rouge. He was a member of Walker Baptist Church in Walker, La., and a former member of Crest View Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, where he served as a deacon and youth leader.
He was a graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. His family said he was an avid Louisiana State University fan and supporter.
Mr. Prescott was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal grandparents, J.Y. and Wilma Powell Prescott; and his maternal grandparents, J.T. King and Emma Mae King Murphy.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, J. Ramon and Paulette Prescott of Magnolia; his wife, Susan Wilson Prescott of Summit; three stepchildren, David Belmar of Waterford, N.J., Jason Mitchem of Humansville, Mo., and Shanna Mitchem of Ponchatoula, La.; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Edie Prescott of McComb; a sister and brother-in-law, Terrie and Wilton Burris of Marietta, Ga.; a stepsister and brother-in-law, Diana and Chris Boyd of Petal; and a granddaughter, Emma Grace Hano.
Pallbearers will be David Belmar, Bruce Chambers, Darrell Alford, Ricky Mixon, Benji Castella, Gary Bourgoyn, John Grafton and Kevin Madison.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Magnolia, 126 S. Clark St., Magnolia, MS 39652.
SADIE ROBERTSON
Sadie “Sandy” Elizabeth Yazzie Robertson, 67, of Magnolia, died Nov. 8, 2007, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.
Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia and 9 a.m. Tuesday until services there at 11 a.m. Dr. Emon White and Dr. Dave Luce will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Robertson was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Apache County, Ariz., to Charlie and Mary Louise Dedman Yazzie.
She was a member of East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia, where she was very active and served on several church committees. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a retired homemaker and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Tommy and Joey Yazzie; and a sister, Louise Sixsay.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James Earl Robertson of Magnolia; stepmother, Zonnie Yazzie of Klagetoh, Ariz.; a son, Gordon Darrell Robertson of Magnolia; a daughter, Patricia Elaine Robertson Honea and husband Tony of Magnolia; three brothers, Wilson Yazzie of San Carlos, Ariz., Nelson Yazzie of Ganado, Ariz., and Antonio Yazzie of Shiprock, N.M.; a sister, Pari Yazzie of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Darrell Dwayne Robertson of McComb, Jesse Glenn Honea of Magnolia and Erica Joyce Honea Knox and husband Joey of Hattiesburg; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Saylie Knox of of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers are Tony Honea, Jesse Honea, Darrell Robertson, Billy Morgan, Snuffy Smith and James Hucabee.
Honorary pallbearers are George McKenzie, J.R. Causey, J.E. Brand and Steve Simmons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Robertson’s name to the American Cancer Society, 130 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
ROGER LEE RUSHING
Roger Lee Rushing, 60, of Tylertown, died there Nov. 8, 2007, at Walthall County General Hospital.
Visitation was 10 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church until services there at 2 p.m. The Rev. Millard Moak and the Rev. Mark Wicker officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rushing was born April 7, 1947, in Tylertown to Alexander “Alex” B. Rushing and Eula Boyd Rushing.
He was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a former resident of Ellisville State School and Lincoln Residential Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Magdelean Rushing; and three brothers, Ford, Eugene and Leroy Rushing.
Survivors include a brother, A.B. Rushing Jr. of Tylertown; five sisters, Sarah McElveen, Mary Skinner, Juanita Holmes, Mavis Herring and Polly Boyd, all of Tylertown; nieces and nephews and many friends.
Randy Alexander, Jerry McElveen, Mark Boyd, Bradley Rushing, Raymond Rushing and Terry Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers are Alex Boyd, Everett McElveen, Trent Rushing, Danny Holmes, Buster McElveen, Steve Rushing and Dale Sanford.

Curtis Knox, 86, of McComb, died Nov. 9, 2007, at Hattiesburg Community Living Center.
Arrangements are incomplete with Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb in charge.
